Many attractions are enjoyed year-round by both residents and visitors alike including the Ave Maria Grotto, featuring 125 miniature reproductions of famous churches and buildings; the Clarkson Covered Bridge, one of the state's largest covered truss bridges; Cullman County Museum, rich in the area's history, displaying many archaelogical finds and artifacts; Looney's Amphitheatre hosting outdoor drama and concerts; and the Agricultural Trade Center, containing a 36,000 square foot arena hosting rodeos, horseshows, and the "Bluegrass Superjam".
Recreational opportunities abound including 21,000 acres of pristine water known as Smith Lake possessing 500 miles of shoreline for camping, fishing, and boating. Some 50 parks call Cullman home where folks and families can swim, jog, bike, picnic, and enjoy an array of outdoor sports.
