Madison is located in Madison County

Population: 27,000

Friendliness and hospitality are alive and well in the City of Madison. We have retained all the best of the past: a small town atmosphere with friendly neighbors, responsive city government, low crime rate and excellent schools.

Concerned with the education of the next generation, this city's residents voted an additional 11 mil property tax on themselves to help pay for a new high school and a new elementary school. These have been constructed, and an additional elementary school, Heritage, is scheduled to open in August for the 1999-2000 school year. In October of 1997, the City Council voted to break away from the county school system and form a city system, which was inaugurated on July 1, 1998. Plans call for an additional high school in the near future.

For prospective home buyers, we have houses in many price ranges, with the convenience of schools, restaurants, shopping and medical care all nearby. Today, Madison is one of the fastest growing cities in the southeastern United States, with one of the highest per capita incomes.

If you are a business or industrial prospect, consider Madison. We are located adjacent to the Huntsville/Madison County Airport, which was an Intermodal Center and is designated a Port of Entry. Additionally, Norfolk Southern Railway runs through town, and I-565 is on the southern end of Madison.

The population is estimated at 27,000, and the retail sector continues to grow, allowing the city to expand and improve public facilities and the infrastructure.

Madison residents can find a variety of physical care facilities, from day cares to doctors’ offices to facilities for aging. And for spiritual care, places of worship abound.
