Home to the University of Alaska - Fairbanks, the town of College is located a few miles to the west of Fairbanks. In addition to taking in the local native culture and the magnificantly clean Alaskan air, residents and visitors alike have access to various educational and public resources.
Museums, libaries and higher insititutions of learning are plentiful in the College/Fairbanks area and a forward moving economy insures their future availablity.
Despite these great resources, it is the incredible surrounding beauty which beckons visitors from all over the world. The Yukon Flats National Wildlife
Reserve, about 1 hour to the north, is a wonderful definition of nature undisturbed. Snow-capped mountain peaks, glistening streams and colorful patches of wildflowers provide the gathering place for wild animals not found elsewhere in the United States.
This area is serviced by Highways 3 and 4. Eielson AFB is about 20 minutes to the east.
