Kingman Chamber of Commerce Located in northwestern Arizona, Kingman is a major site of commerce for this area. Its strategic location between Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Phoenix, and the Grand Canyon make this a viable city for trade, service and manufacturing, while tourism also constitutes a significant portion of the local economy. Low state taxes and close proximity to the California market will continue to make this a favorable area for industry. In fact, Airport Industrial Park has been attracting manufacturing firms looking to relocate their offices to the warm Southwest climate. Kingman is surrounded by several mountain chains, including the Hulalapai, Black and Aquarius Mountains. Lake Meade is about 80 miles to the north and the adjoining Colorado River forms the borders with Nevada and California. Needless to say, outdoor recreation is at a premium in Kingman. Specific activities and attractions include nearby wilderness areas, historic mining camps, hunting, fishing, and hiking. If all of this activity sounds exhausting, keep in mind that Kingman's elevation (3,336 ft) maintains a moderate climate (i.e. not too hot and not too cold). A plus for allergy sufferers is that there is no pollen to contend with. Several area schools and a community college provide for the educational needs of younger families moving here. Available housing targets nearly everyone, from the executive to the young family, singles and retirees. Kingman is a diverse community with a strong workforce and family atmosphere. Kingman is located at the intersection of I-40, US 93 and the historic Route 66. Nevada and California are both within 90 minutes from Kingman. See other communities near Kingman |
