Harrison is the largest city in Boone County, with an estimated population of 10,700 and an estimated county population of 31,900.

Located in Northwest Arkansas on U.S. 62-412 and U.S. 65 highways, Harrison is 1,343 miles North of Little Rock (the state capitol), and 29 miles South of the Missouri border. The Boston Mountain range of the Ozark Mountains is 15 minutes to the south and southwest. An hour and a half in your car to the south is the Ozark Folk Center, located at Mountain View and Blanchard Springs Caverns. Arkansas Highway 7 (designated as one of the 10 most scenic drives in the United States), winds through the Boston Mountains, and offers a panoramic view. Just an hour's drive to the North takes you to Branson, Missouri, and an hour's drive to the South finds you in Eureka Springs, Arkansas ("Little Switzerland). Buffalo National River, just 15 minutes to the South offers canoeing and fishing; Bull Shoals Lake, only 25 minutes North and Table Rock Lake, also 25 minutes North, both offer water-skiing and fishing. The White River, 50 minutes to the East, provides excellent trout fishing.
