Antioch is located in Contra Costa County

Population: 90,814 Just across San Francisco Bay is Contra Costa County. Cross over on the Bay Bridge and take Highway 24 through the Caldecott Tunnel into the Oakland Hills. On the other side of the hills is the delta, and there you will find a quaint yet contemporary rivertown known as Antioch. While Antioch is easy to get to, it is tucked away in the heart of the Golden State, where you can find recreational activities abound. Especially the watersports. Inland there's birdwatching, winery tours, fine waterfront dining, or nitely entertainment featuring local and national artists. A community center features a 200-seat theatre, 280 capacity multi-use room, and a waterpark featuring slides, pools, and large grassy areas. A host of community parks as well as trails for jogging, biking, and roller blading add to a lengthy list of year-round amenities.

Antioch's well-built organization within the community is not only based on its reputation for high quality, honesty, fair practices, and superior service, but also on the promptness, courtesy, and consideration reflected in its daily actions. This friendly offer is extended to both residents and visitors alike. Lined with a dramatic history boasting of Gold Rush days, Antioch has managed to hang on to that cordial small-town feel yet hosts today's modern conveniences along with keeping up with advanced technology, making for quite the attraction for both professional businesses and hi-tech firms.

Sporting a spectacular historic downtown district, the area is currently undergoing a major renaissance with town official and residents alike working on and implementing a great plan focused on arts, entertainment, and specialty businesses. Included are galleries, boutiques, craft related business, antique shops, coffee shops, cafes, bakeries, music, dance, performing arts, and professional offices.

Another one of Antioch's highlights is the Antioch Marina. Development of the Marina began in 1986 and the Marina was completed in 1988. The berths are on the east side of the Marina, with two gangways serving the six main walkways. The size of the Marina basin confined within the sea walls is approximately 800 feet by 750 feet (12.8 acres), with an entrance 60 feet wide and a depth of 10 feet at zero tide. There are no channels to be considered as the approach to the Marina is a natural shoreline gradient from approximately 68 feet depth in the center of the San Joaquin River. The Marina is located on the south side of the San Joaquin River, east of the San Francisco Bay. Owned and operated by the City of Antioch, the 310-berth public Marina is one of the newest in San Francisco Bay area, and is an attractive, multi-use facility that is home port for recreational power and sail boats. Located in eastern Contra Costa County, the Marina is approximately 3 1/4 miles west of the Antioch Bridge. The Antioch Marina is one mile north of the intersection of Highway 4 and Somersville Road in downtown Antioch. Highway 4 runs east and west and provides the primary main access to and from the Marina.
