WORK... The vision of Carlsbad's leaders more than a decade ago is being realized today with a thriving local economy. The city features some of the country's leaders in high-tech, multi-media, health care and biotechnology. Numerous factors attract corporate headquarters to Carlsbad, including our high-quality education, freeway access, McClellan-Palomar Airport, moderately priced labor and housing - not to mention the weather and the beaches. The "golf capital of the world," Carlsbad is home to more than 30 companies in that industry, including Callaway Golf, Taylor Made and Cobra.
PLAY... With the most temperate climate in the nation, Carlsbad boasts a variety of recreational and cultural amenities. The Carlsbad Chamber sponsors the Carlsbad Village Faire, featuring more than 800 exhibits on the first Sunday of May and November. Carlsbad boasts more than seven miles of beautiful, clean beaches, more than 150 acres of parks, picnic facilities and play areas, three community centers and three championship golf courses. Two more golf courses, one owned by the city, are planned before the turn of the century. The internationally renowned La Costa Resort and Spa features two 18-hole golf courses, seven restaurants, tennis courts and a spa that attract visitors year-round. In 1999, Carlsbad will be the home of LE-GOLAND family theme park, which will attract more than a million visitors each year.
SHOP... Carlsbad offers terrific shopping, in-eluding Plaza Camino Real, a major regional mall; North County Plaza, downtown antique and specialty stores, Village Faire specialty center, and the Carlsbad Company Stores mall. Car Country Carlsbad includes more than two-dozen auto dealers. Getting to Carlsbad is easy. McClellan-Palomar Airport offers commercial flights through American Eagle, United Express and Desert Air Skyways.
