(The city of Dublin is a great place to raise a family)
Dublin's significance as a "crossroads" has been a part of city's heritage for many years. Early travelers to this area found it to be a great place to change horses and freshen up before continuing their journey, as it was located at the crossroads of two important stage routes. Today, Dublin's convenient location at the intersection of I-580 and I-680 has allowed the Tri-Valley region to develop, and has contributed to the planned growth and forward thinking of the area. Several large corporations have located here and are taking advantage of Dublin's great quality of life and potential for future prosperity. The city's major employers include Sybase Corporation, EMC, and Smithkline Beecham.
Residents of Dublin are within a relatively convenient distance from San Francisco, opening up a host of cultural entertainment opportunities. However, Dublin does have some amenities of its own. An extensive parks system provides numerous indoor and outdoor recreational activities, and several programs are held throughout the year to bolster the physical fitness of area youth.
Dublin is located in the midst of "wine country", and several wineries in the Tri-Valley area are available for touring. Other area activities are to be found at the Alameda County Fairgrounds, where festivals are held year-round.
Dublin is bordered by the towns of San Ramon, Pleasanton and Livermore. Gently rolling hills paint the landscape of this growing region, while brilliant blue skies oversee the region's vast open space.
