The city is known for its three blocks of beautifully restored turn-of-the-century downtown buildings, such as the Town Hall Arts Center and the Littleton Historical Museum. It is also known for its outstanding school district which has one of the lowest dropout rates in the state, while 75% of its high school graduates go on to college. Littleton will benefit from the light-rail system extension that should open sometime in the year 2000. It is being extended 8.1 miles south from Denver's current light-rail system.
