The Town of Superior is located between the Boulder-Denver Turnpike (U.S. 36) to the North and State Highway 128 to the South just six miles east of the City of Boulder. The Town mostly sits in Boulder County with a small southern portion of land in Jefferson County.

The City of Boulder is five minutes northwest of the Town and Downtown Denver is thirty minutes to the southeast. Denver International Airport is a forty-five minute drive.

The new development is known as Rock Creek Ranch. Although the land was subdivided in 1987, development continues today. Through 2000, approximately 1900 single-family homes and 1600 multi-family homes have been developed in Rock Creek swelling Superior's population to approximately 9,000. There is now a second development west of the original town, called the Sagamore subdivision. Through 2000 approximately 171 homes have been developed.

Future development plans of the Town include commercial development, retail development, multi-family residential units, single family homes and a second school Eldorado K-8 is currently under construction. The Town is approximately seven square miles in area has 170 acres of park and open space and 6.7 miles of trails.
