Population: 7,026 Situated at the foot of the Berkshires and bordering the Farmington River, Burlington is a scenic hill town, rural in nature, located 20 miles west of Hartford. Incorporated in 1806, we now have a population of 7,800. We are home to the State of Connecticut Fish Hatchery, Mountain Meadows Airport ( formally Johnnycake Airport) and the Nepaug Reservoir. Almost 50% of the land in the town is owned by three public water supply companies and the State of Connecticut. Our form of government is a Board of Selectmen - Town Meeting. We have an excellent educational system (Regional School District #10 with the Town of Harwinton) and an excellent recreational program.
