One of South Florida’s best-kept secrets, Parkland is a tranquil city nestled in a serene, wooded environment in Northwest Broward County just 25 minutes from the Hollywood/Fort Lauderdale International Airport. This unique city was incorporated in 1963 and is predominantly an upscale bedroom community with a small portion zoned for commercial and industrial development. The current population of Parkland is approximately 18,000 on 8.5 square miles. Long-term projections call for an eventual population of approximately 30,000 residents, although city leaders have taken a slow-growth, well-planned approach to expansion in order to maintain Parkland’s small town flavor.
In keeping with the family oriented atmosphere, Parkland has an excellent system of parks including a state-of-the-art, 97-acre Equestrian Center featuring riding classes, clinics, dressage competition and monthly circuit shows. The park system also includes multipurpose trails, bike paths and a 5.5-acre park featuring a variety of sports. The public school system boasts some of the most highly regarded schools in Broward County.
Housing includes a mix of condominiums, townhouses and single-family homes that make up the majority of the market.
Condominiums and townhouses can range from $350,000 - $700,000. Single-family homes can range from $400,000 - $3,000,000 for estate homes. Horse properties are also available.
