(There are many ways to enjoy the natural beauty in the area)
Port St. John is located just south of the NASA Causeway, the roadway which leads to both the Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral. Residents are truly in the heart of the famed "Space Coast". Port St. John's location on the Indian River Lagoon also puts the town in the midst of teeming wildlife and natural beauty.
Port St. John is currently unincorporated, and "the closest this community has come to being a port was a wooden dock on the east end of Faye Boulevard." However, the area is becoming more popular for both retirees and young families due to its affordable housing. Of course, the ocean breezes and mild winters don't hurt the situation.
Port St. John is close to many attractions and amenities. Several shopping plazas and the Gateway Center, a 117,000 square-foot, high-tech professional office park, are centrally located. The town's business district encompasses all the needs of a smaller town and nearby parks allow residents and visitors to enjoy the nature around them (including watching the manatees and porpoises play in the Indian River Lagoon). Visitors will soon find that there are numerous ways to enjoy what Port St. John can offer.
Port St. John enjoys its close proximity to Titusville, or "Space City, USA". Visitors can visit the NASA Visitor Center or several museums dedicated to showcasing the history of the nation's Space Program. In addition, NASA rocket launches take place throughout the year and are easily viewable in Port St. John (though most residents still want to get as close as they can).
