Incredibly scenic Kaneohe Bay is spiked with islets and lined with gold-sand beach parks like Kualoa, a favorite picnic spot. The bay has a barrier reef and four tiny islets, one of which is known as Moku o loe, or Coconut Island. Framed by the steep cliffs of Nuuanu Pali, part of the majestic Ko'olau mountain range, the Bay features a barrier coral reef, fishponds, and sandbar. The Bay is about 13 km long by 4 km wide with an average depth of about 8 m. The Bay is also a popular sailing location.
