Rexburg is an unspoiled small city with wide tree-lined streets (the widest main street in Idaho) and memories going back to its Mormon ancestry. The town abounds with well-kept homes, businesses and parks, one even boasts a carousel. A sound economic base, excellent schools, a low crime rate, and high family values make it a classic American hometown.
Recreation and sightseeing activities are also plentiful. Skiing and snowmobiling can be found in Jackson Hole, Sun Valley and Island Park. Both the Snake River and the Salmon River, fabled as the River of No Return offer world class fly-fishing and whitewater rafting. The St. Anthony Sand Dunes and the Craters of the Moon are interesting diversions and provide unusual hiking trails. An event not to be missed is the annual Idaho International Folk Dance Festival. Over 300 dancers and musicians can be seen during this nine day event.
Economic growth is steady and secure. The area’s major industry is agriculture with potatoes, grain and hay being the main crops. Outside of agriculture, Ricks College has the largest work force along with Artco Printing. Rexburg Business Park is a progressive business area located near Rexburg city limits.
