Inverness Relocation Guide

Inverness is located in Cook County

Population: 6,503 Mr. Arthur T. McIntosh, a resident of Kenilworth, Illinois, saw the Inverness area as a lovely, rolling countryside and a good place for future development. When he bought the Temple farm and house in 1926, it was the first of eleven parcels of farmland which covered the area to be gradually acquired by him. He made additions to the house which had at first been considered as a summer home. He had several dairy farms, a hog farm and grain farms. The stock farm had one of the largest producing Holstein herds in the state. There were four hundred hogs and three hundred feeder cattle.

All this farmland was now under Mr. McIntosh's control. These lands, combined with the acquisition of the Cudahy Company Golf Course, comprised the approximately 1500 contiguous acres needed to get the development underway. It had taken twelve years to accumulate these holdings and the first physical improvements, other then to his own home, were expanding and improving the Cudahy Golf Course.

Today, Inverness is a very wealthy community and continues to be home to many of the area's professional sports players.
