Roselle is a northwestern suburb of Chicago and is home to 23,115 people. Located approximately 25 miles from downtown Chicago, 25 minutes from O'Hare International Airport, and 10 minutes from two major shopping centers, Roselle provides the quality of life and sense of community usually found only in a small town, with the convenience of a larger metropolitan area.
Originally settled in 1833, Roselle developed as a wayside stop on the stage line between Chicago and Elgin. Later it became an important rail shipping point for local crops and manufactured goods. As America approached the 20th century, Roselle prospered and was know by local residents a great place to start business and raise a family.
Today, Roselle is a growing community of more than 23,000. Part of Roselle's success stems from it's diversity in industry, in housing, and its people. This unique relationship explains why it is a community of retail, professional, commercial, and industrial opportunity.
Roselle's strength is in its people. Many families are the second and third generation to live in Roselle. These people live here, play here, and do business here because they appreciate the quality of life that Roselle has to offer. When driving through our community, one is struck by the tree lined streets and the sense of community that sets Roselle apart from the typical suburban community.
When the Village of Roselle was established years ago, so were many of the surrounding park districts. As the Roselle boundaries grew, they overlapped neighboring park district boundaries, resulting in Roselle residents being served by four different park districts. The Roselle Park District's main building, the Clauss Recreation Center located at 555 West Bryn Mawr Avenue, features a dance studio, fitness center, gymnasium, indoor track and classrooms for its many year-round activities. For your outdoor recreational needs the park district has playgrounds, tennis and volleyball courts, ball fields, outdoor walking/jogging paths, bike paths, a picnic pavilion, a skate and bike park and soccer fields. The Roselle Park District offers a wide variety of recreational opportunities, for all ages - from toddlers through seniors.
