College Park is located in Prince George's County

Population: 21,927 Although incorporated in 1945, College Park is a historical city founded over 200 years ago. It has grown into the second largest city in Prince George's County, covering five square miles and having a population of 24,000 people. You'll find parks, playgrounds, restaurants, stores and entertainment establishments in College Park. The city boasts of having the oldest continuously operated airport in the world, and you will find its airport museum a fun place to visit. Of course, College Park is especially proud to be the host city of the flagship campus of the University of Maryland.

Recreation in the College Park area is vast and diverse. On the 4th of July, Each year, the City of College Park and the University of Maryland hold a free concert on the grounds of the University of Maryland before the annual fireworks display, which begins at dark.

The Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center at Maryland occupies 318,000 square feet and situated on a 17-acre site at the northwest end of the campus, the Center is a state-of-the-art performing arts “village” on the University of Maryland campus, comprised of 10 interconnected structures. It is designed to serve the music, theatre and dance divisions of the University, and in so doing, be a true center of performing arts for regional audiences and national and international professionals.
