Crofton Chamber of Commerce Crofton is located between Washington, D.C. and Baltimore. The capitol of Maryland, Annapolis is less than a 15 minute drive. Established in 1964, Crofton is a planned community bordered by Maryland Route 3 (Crain Hwy), Maryland Route 450 (Defense Hwy), and Maryland Route 424 (Davidsonville Rd). Inside the border known as the Crofton Triangle, building, with few exceptions, is limited to residential living. The exceptions include The Crofton Country Club, Churches, and The Village Green which houses a few offices and a restaurant. Crofton maintains a small town appeal. Schools with excellent reputations abound - both public and private. The community offers abundant activities ranging from parks, youth sport programs, golf, swimming, tennis and annual parades and celebrations. Community life in Crofton usually involves Crofton Parkway which is a scenic loop 3.5 miles long. This Parkway is the site of parades, Town Hall, community events, local schools, and other government buildings. It is certainly not a rarity to see joggers, bikers and walkers circling the loop for excercise and recreation. Crofton now also encompasses Crofton Park and the Village at Waugh Chapel, a large, outdoor shoppers paradise. Crofton Real Estate Within the past 20 years Crofton has grown beyond the triangle to include areas such as Crofton Meadows and Chapman Farms. The homes outside of the triangle are newer, but are still a part of the Crofton community described above.
