Anne Arundel County Located on the shores of sparkling Chesapeake Bay Squarely in the middle of the East Coast of the United States. Its northern border is shared with the city of Baltimore and its western edge is only 15 miles from Washington D.C.
U.S. Route 50 running east and west divides the county in two. The county becomes increasingly more urban to the north, culminating in the heavy industrial centers around Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. To the south Anne Arundel is an agricultural region where corn and tobacco are the best known crops.
Baltimore Washington International (BWI) Airport is located within the county, binding its connection with those two metropolitan Centers.
Chesapeake Bay pervades through almost all facets of life here, from the recreation to commerce. The U.S. Naval Academy lies within the historic boundaries of the city of Annapolis. The County’s many creeks, rivers, and inlets make traveling by boat often quicker and always more enjoyable.
