Population: 4,753 Boxborough - In 1783, a group of settlers purchased an old meeting house from the town of Harvard and dragged it by ox cart to the top of a lofty hill. They petitioned the state to be recognized as a new town, and Boxboro was born. Boxboro began to grow in the 1950's. New homes were built in the meadows. New roads, new residents, and new industry took root, but some things never change. Inspired by its history and enlightened by its growth, Boxboro remains today a friendly village of committed neighbors.

Boxboro, once a town dominated by farms and apple orchards, is located just 25 minutes from Rt. 128 and minutes from Routes 2 & 495. Its recent growth of the hi-tech belt can be attributed to the building of the high tech belt along these commuter roads.

Boxboro's attractions include an excellent school system which includes a fine elementary school and the regional Acton-Boxboro Junior and Senior High Schools. It also belongs to the Minuteman Vocational Technical High School district, thus affording varied opportunities for all its young residents.
