Population: 5,500 The town of Granby is a rural suburban town, bordered by Amherst, Belchertown, Ludlow, Chicopee and South Hadley, and is 15 miles north of Springfield. It is a central location for the five college area. Granby has always been a farming community, mostly dairy since the late 1880's. Although present day has seen a decline in dairy farms. There is a small center of town, with a town common, which is home to several fairs during the year.
