(Victoria - A City of Lakes & Parks!)
Victoria, founded in 1850 and incorporated in 1915, truly lives up to its identity of Lakes and Parks, but also its motto, "Where Urban Rush Meets Rural Serenity."
Victoria is located just 25 miles west-southwest of the Humphrey Metrodome in downtown Minneapolis. The City, nestled among the rolling hills, forests, and lakes of Carver County, retains its rural charm while developing its quality residential and commercial base. Victoria offers a home for those wanting urban amenities while maintaining rural and ethnic roots.
Nine lakes lie within Victoria's boundaries, including Smithtown Bay of Lake Minnetonka. Parks abound for the active and passive.
Victoria's Community Athletic Park offers softball/baseball fields, hockey, football and soccer, basketball and Park and Recreation activities offered by the City.. Salter's Park hosts a seven-apparatus exercise trail and tennis courts. 2,000 acres of the Hennepin County Park Reserve District lie in Victoria, providing camping, hiking, bike trails and the Lowry Nature Center. The University of Minnesota Horticultural Research Farm is located in Victoria, offering its 150+ varieties of apples each fall. The University of Minnesota Landscape Arboretum borders on the East.
Victoria's children attend three different school districts, depending on location: Minnetonka School District No. 276, Chaska School District No. 112, Waconia School District No. 110 or Holy Family Catholic High School.
Five churches, St. Victoria Catholic, Faith Lutheran, Lake Auburn Moravian, Christ Victorious Lutheran, and Waterbrooke Fellowship serve Victoria and surrounding worshipers. Community organizations, including the Victoria Fire Department, the Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce, Senior Citizens, Athletic Clubs, American Legion, and amateur baseball, attain strong membership and community support.
Victoria is a City growing with quality and pride. WELCOME!
