In a myriad of ways, Chesterfield is the “best of the best” in the St. Louis metropolitan area. This progressive and affluent community not only excels in housing, shopping, education, culture, recreation and community services, but it is also a singular place for business.

Area shoppers by the thousands flock annually to the 1.5 million-square foot Chesterfield Mall, and to the 16 other shopping centers in the community like Clarkson Square and the quaint Hog Hollow Square. Key attractions at the Mall include its four major department stores, Dillards, Famous Barr, JC Penney, and Sears along with the nearly 200 shops, boutiques are intermingled with large chain stores. It is continuing to grow and currently features a variety of shopping venues such as Wal-Mart, Lowe’s Home Improvement Warehouse, Sam’s Club, chesterfield Jewelers, Mary Tuttle’s Florist and St. Nick’s Nook to name a few.

When it comes to residential living, Chesterfield is a picture perfect in many ways. Imagine a remarkable canvas of beautiful homes of every size, type and style, surrounded by manicured lawns and heavily wooded lots, all painted on a gently rolling terrain. Some of Chesterfield’s older homes and subdivisions can be found near Clarkson Road, south of Chesterfield Mall, along Olive Boulevard north of the highway, and off Woods which can include about an acre of wooded ground and more than 2,200 square feet of the wooded hills of Wild Horse Creek Road as well as along Kehrs Mill and Wilson roads. Chesterfield’s only public golf course, The Landing at Spirit, opened in spring 2000 in Chesterfield Valley. In addition, the Chesterfield Valley Golf Center offers opportunities to practice at its lighted tee driving range.

Exceptional Faust County Park in the heart of Chesterfield on Olive Boulevard is only minutes from anywhere in the community. A focal point for summertime concerts and seasonal festivals, this 200-acre park features a fully restored 1920’s carousel housed in a dedicated building, and a small village of authentic historical homes and structures. On Labor Day weekend, the annual St. Louis Airport fair and Air Show is held at the Spirit of St. Louis Airport in Chesterfield Valley. It features live entertainment, food booths, carnival rides, fireworks and a world-class air show.

Parkway School District with 28 schools and Early Childhood Center, serves the eastern half of Chesterfield. Thirteen of its schools have received the U.S. Department of Education’s Blue Ribbon Award for Excellence in Education. The eastern area of Chesterfield is served by Rockwood School District, the fastest growing district in St. Louis County. Top notch private schools also serve the community, including those with special needs. In 1977, the renowned St. Joseph Institute for the Deaf Relocated to Chesterfield.
