Harding Housing Information

This is one of the most expensive areas in the state, with homes ranging in price from around $870,000 to $9,400,000. There are two town house developments along Mt. Kemble Avenue but no apartment buildings or senior citizen housing units.

Harding Township Attractions

Harding includes most of Great Swamp Wildlife Refuge. Established in 1960, this area of wilderness consists of about 7,500 acres of swamp, woodland, hardwood ridges, cattail marsh, grassland, ponds and streams. Many endangered species can be found here, and close to 250 bird species also. Fish, reptiles, and about 600 species of plants can be observed in the wilderness. The refuge has been designated as a Registered National Natural Landmark because of it being an exceptional example of natural history in the United States.

There is a permanent exhibit presenting materials related to the history of Harding Township presented by the Harding Township Historical Society. On the house's second floor is the John H. Culbertson Museum which features changing exhibits relating to local and regional history.

Also located within the township's limits are portions of two Morris County Parks, a year round lake community and a lake for resident skating in winter.
