Population: 7,305 Northfield is a suburban community located on the mainland near the New Jersey shore between Atlantic City and Ocean City, and between Pleasantville and Linwood on U.S. Route 9. It has an area of 3.5 square miles and is nearly square in shape with a population of 7,725 in 2000. We are organized as a city, with a mayor and city council.

Main roads leading to Atlantic City, New York, Philadelphia and Washington are easily accessible. By car it takes 20 minutes to reach Atlantic City 2 1/2 hours to go to New York, Philadelphia is 1 1/2 hours away and by Washington only 3 hours using the Cape May ferry.
