Population: 200 The community of Whites City is located adjacent to the Carlsbad Caverns National Park in southwestern New Mexico. It is at the crossroads of US 62/180 and NM Highway 7, the latter of which is the road leading into the Park.

Whites City was named for Charlie White, a man from Kentucky who homesteaded just south of Carlsbad. Whites City began with a small store and service station and has expanded into a tourist area. Several historic stores, restaurants and museums along the highway in Whites City greet visitors driving from the town of Carlsbad to the National Park.
