Facilities accommodate baseball, basketball, bicycling, fishing, football, horse shows, outdoor concerts, ice skating, jogging, picnics, playground activities, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, walking or just relaxing with family or friends. Reservations for the picnic pavilions in Fancher-Davidge, Amchir and Maple Hill Parks are accepted beginning in January for dates between May 15th and October 15th of each year. "Revocable Permits" are also issued for other requested use of City park property. The Recreation and Parks Department is proud to offer numerous activities and events throughout the year to help make your leisure time more interesting and enjoyable. Special events include Halloween Party, Easter Egg Hunt, Holiday Programs, Concerts and Bus Trips. Activities include: After School Programs, Basketball, Baton Twirling, Community Center Programs, Elementary and Middle School Dances, Pre-School Programs, Swim Team, Teen Programs, Tennis, Track and Field and Volleyball. Programs as described in the annual "Fall, Winter and Spring" brochure or the annual "Summer" brochure available from the Recreation and Parks Department Office. In addition, call on us for "area Sports Contacts" for local leagues. In 1986, the Office of Economic and Community Development (OECD) established an Economic Development Program. The primary goals of the program are to increase employment opportunities, attract new business and industry, support the expansion and retention of existing business and industry, and provide an "on site" resource where information related to these goals may be obtained. The OECD's Economic Development Program provides access to numerous financing options designed to enhance and encourage economic revitalization. Located just 40 miles from Manhattan, Orange County is one of the most attractive areas in the New York metropolitan area.
