Montebello is a village located in Rockland County, New York. The village had a total population of 3,688. It is approximately 4.5 square miles bounded by the Village of Suffern on the West, the Palisades Park on the North, Spook Rock and Airmont Roads on the East. The Village is largely rural in character and is one of the prime residential areas in Rockland County. However, more and more companies see the potential of this village and the area is becoming a little more industrial. Already this area has two Office Parks, Ramapo Corporate Park, Montebello Park, a shopping center, two medical office buildings, Liberty Park, and the Holidome.Montebello lies wholly within the Ramapo Central School District.

Suffern Senior High School, Suffern Middle School, and the Montebello and Viola Elementary Schools are within the Village’s boundaries. These schools are ranked well overall, and provide the best and the latest in technology and teaching strategies. Two major recreational facilities owned by the Town of Ramapo, the Spook Rock Golf Course and the Spook Rock Pool, are located within the Village. The County’s Kakiat Park is also within the Village. The Parks Commission has been hard at work in a variety of areas. Plans are underway to create a new park in the Pines parklands, including wildlife viewing areas, walking trails, a par course and a tot lot.

This is definitely a great neighborhood, and in purchasing a house, you must be prepared to spend at least $400,000. There are several estate homes that are on the market for upwards of two million. The area is prestigious, and offers residents privacy and solitude, great after a hassled day in New York City.It is its very proximity to New York City that makes Montebello such a desirable place to live though. Commuting is made easy, both day and night, so getting out for a night on the town is an easy thing to do! Montebello has a vast amount of promise for those who are looking to upscale their way of life.
