Located among the rolling mountains and sparkling lakes of Rockland County, New City is the largest community in this area. A predominantly white-collar workforce and potential for greater growth insure that New City will continue to flourish for years to come.

A vast majority of New City residents have completed college and the average median income of this area is the highest in the county. Nearly 90% of housing in the town is owner-occupied.

The scenic beauty of Rockland County lends itself well to recreational areas, including several town and county parks. The Hudson River is located about 4 miles to the east and provides various water activities.

Manhattan is located 15 miles to the south, so residents of New City can take advantage of big-city amenities or simply enjoy the small-town surroundings of their quaint community.

Clarkstown is located 25 miles from midtown Manhattan, and New City is the seat of both Town Government and Rockland County Government. The Town encompasses approximately 41 square miles and includes the hamlets of Bardonia, Central Nyack, Congers, Nanuet, New City, Rockland Lake, Valley Cottage, West Nyack, all of the Village of Upper Nyack, and portions of the Villages of Nyack and Spring Valley. Clarkstown has almost 300 miles of roads, which are maintained by the Town's Highway Department, and an extensive park system that continues to expand as the Town acquires additional lands under the Open Space program. Clarkstown has lakes, parks, top-rated schools, business and industry and an active community.

Our Park system incorporates about 700 acres of park land, four (4) Community Centers, three (3) outdoor pools, three (3) picnic areas, two (2) picnic shelter, twelve (12) ballfields, one (1) soccer field, two (2) bocci ball courts, two (2) tennis courts, one (1) wheel park, five (5) playgrounds, four (4) outdoor basketball courts, and a historic home, barn and use of various school facilities.
