Pound Ridge is 19 miles northeast of White Plains and 43 miles north of Mid-town Manhattan.
The town spans approximately 22.6 miles, 15,200 acres. 98.5% of Pound Ridge's total acreage is zoned for residential use, mostly in three acre lots.
Transportation
The Harlem Line of Metro North has a station in Mt. Kisco and the New Haven line has stops in New Canaan and Stamford. I-684 and the Merritt Parkway are two major north-south arteries that service the area. Airports are Westchester (White Plains), La Guardia, JFK and Newark.
Education
The School District is Bedford Central. Kindergarten through fifth grade students attend the Pound Ridge Elementary School. The junior and high schools for Pound Ridge are the Fox Lane Middle and High Schools respectively. Private and Parochial Schools include: the Harvey School, J.F. Kennedy High School, Rippowam Cisqua, and St. Patrick's Parochial School.
Recreation
County and State Parks in the area include the Pound Ridge Town Park and the Ward Pound Ridge Reservation. Between the two they offer hiking, picnicking, playgrounds, swimming, tennis, paddle tennis, baseball fields, boating, riding trails, ice fishing, ice skating, cross country skiing and camping.
Shopping
The town of Scotts Corners and the hamlet of Pound Ridge offer a variety of shops and services. Shopping malls in Stamford, White Plains and Danbury are easily accessible.
