Historic Tarrytown was settled in 1648 and incorporated as a Village on December 9, 1870. The Village is located 20 miles from New York City and is minutes away from Rockland County. In the mid 1950s the New York State Thruway and the Tappan Zee Bridge were completed, making Tarrytown a centrally located community.
