Located in the Piedmont region of the Carolinas, Belmont is only 12 miles from uptown Charlotte, the largest city in the Carolinas. There are a couple of different routes that give direct access to Charlotte to the east and Gastonia to the west.

Beautiful architecture and full-grown magnolia, lilac, and dogwood trees are a testament to the rich history of Belmont. The town's oldest home, featuring a well-preserved interior, is an antebellum structure built in 1870. Owing much to the textile mill owners of yesteryear, stately mansions grace the main road of town, while recently renovated "mill houses" can be found in surrounding areas.

Belmont is perfectly situated for business in the Charlotte region. Its proximity to Charlotte-Douglas International Airport (ten minutes from the town center), direct access to major freeways and a skilled workforce make Belmont an excellent business address. Completion of the Charlotte Outerbelt, which will join I-85 near Belmont on the west side of Charlotte, will only enhance the city's growth potential.

Spend a little time browsing through shops filled with antiques, novelties, jewelry, flowers, gift baskets, hand crafted pottery, and all manner of unusual items.

Take a break at an old fashioned soda shop, or perhaps you would enjoy a meal at one of the fine restaurants.  Have an exotic coffee, or a delicious bakery treat.  Maybe a picnic in a picturesque park is more to your taste.
