Green is ideally located in southern Summit County along the I-77 corridor between Akron & Canton. Our 22,000 residents have found it to be an excellent community in which to live, work, and raise a family.

Our three parks feature paved walking trails, baseball & soccer fields, tennis courts, picnic pavilions, playground equipment and a hall that can be reserved by residents for small family gatherings.

Our first-rate school system serves approximately 4,000 students in five school facilities. Special programs are offered for specific learning disabilities, developmentally & multiple handicapped students as well as special reading programs and programs for gifted and talented students.

Major shopping malls are located to the north and south of Green in Cleveland, Akron and Canton, although many small shopping areas primarily located along S. Main Street, Massillon Road, and Arlington Road provide convenient everyday shopping.

Excellent organized sports programs of all kinds receive strong community support. High school programs include: football, basketball, wrestling, track, soccer, golf, baseball, softball. Several youth organizations are supported by parents and players: Green Youth Football, Green Baseball Federation, Green Soccer, and Green Youth Basketball.

Interstate 77 is not the only means of transportation through Green. The Akron Canton Airport is located in the southeastern portion of the city on approximately 1,500 acres, and another major improvement project is currently underway at the airport. The Metro Regional Transit Authority has expanded bus transportation into Green in recent years, providing service to commuters traveling north into Akron. Several trucking and shipping companies are located in Green, serving the commercial and industrial community.
