Scituate is located in Providence County

Scituate is located approximately ten miles west of Providence, R.I. in Providence County and encompasses 52 square miles. Once considered the "hinterlands" of the state, today Scituate offers both suburban amenities and a rural atmosphere of unspoiled forests, ponds and the pristine Scituate Reservoir, which provides most of the water to the rest of the state.

The Town of Scituate has seen a growing interest in public recreation facilities. Because of this, a project called the Green Acres program was developed. We now have Hope Park (Clinton Ave.) and Gorham Field (Route 101). Each of these parks have baseball fields, basketball and tennis courts. The Town is always upgrading and creating more public recreational areas.
