Located on the west side of Houston, on the I-610 Perimeter, south of Highway 59, Bellaire was founded by Burlington Railroad VP, William Wright Baldwin in 1908. Promoted nationwide as "an exclusive residential neighborhood and agricultural trading center with the conveniences of city living and reliable access to Houston." Today, Bellaire is "zoned for residential, commercial, and light industrial sections. High-rise office buildings are located along Loop 610, but Bellaire is largely known as a residential city." (1)

The Community Rec Center features a Youth Room, Fitness Room, Gymnasium, swimming pool, classes in Jazzercise, Karate, Fencing , Tennis, Water Exercise, and various programs for all ages including toddlers and seniors. On Friday nights, kids in grades 3-8 can enjoy a live DJ, light show, basketball, inflatables, karaoke, game room, celebrity appearances and more.
