Spring is located on County Route 1960, just east of I-45, 15 miles north of Houston's City Center. More lovingly known as "Old Town Spring," this charming Texas village is popular place for shopping, dining, and taking pictures of the shops and buildings representing a town from the early 1900's. Towering pecan and sycamore trees shade the wide sidewalks that stroll past many fine galleries, boutiques, antique stores, collectibles, and delightful eateries including the historic Wunsche Bros Café & Saloon.
This fun loving town is also home to several renown celebrations including the biggest Crawfish Festival outside of Louisiana. Each year the large crowds consume between 40,000 and 50,000 pounds of crawfish at venues throughout town and enjoy music and dancing, carnival rides and street vendors, along with noted entertainment and big bands appearing on five separate stages in Preservation Park and throughout town. Another annual highlight is the Texas Renaissance Festival. This 16th Century theme park is filled with unique craftsmen & artisans from around the world, tantalizing food and drink, lush gardens, games and rides, and music and drama that will awaken all of your senses. Frontier Days in February is the time for the big Chili Cookoff coupled with gunfight re-enactments of the Old West, Indian ceremonial demonstrations, real mountain men, and much more. Other festivals throughout the year celebrate a great Texas heritage as well as the holidays and special town events.
Spring also has excellent school districts. Klein High School is one of the nations top high schools.
Spring has a diversity of homes, ranging from the low $100,000's to over a million. There are outstanding neighborhoods with beauiful country clubs; golf is a popular sport in this area.
Spring's close proximity to the big city provides its residents with all the amenities of a major metropolitan area but is situated well enough that it retains its rural charm. Interstates and major highways provide commuters with an easy drive while an abundance of affordable housing of every style provide folks with opportunity to live the "American Dream." Come see what all the fuss is about. It's a way of life. It's Texas!
