Chantilly, Virginia located 22 miles from Washington D.C. in the western Fairfax County is a centrally located residential/business district with excellent access to Route 50, 28 and the Dulles Toll Road. Numerous shopping centers located on Route 50 service the area adding to the convenience of Chantilly living. The location is a favorite among commuters.
Since 1971, the Fairfax County Park Authority has owned Chantilly’s 660 acre Eleanor C. Lawrence Park, formally Walney Farm which was established to preserve wild life, historical ruins and provide for picnicking, hiking and sporting events. The public school system is excellent in keeping with Fairfax County’s national academic acclaim. New homebuilding opportunities are limited, housing relatively new and prices mirror Fairfax County averages.
As a part of Fairfax County, Chantilly offers its residents a broad range of historical and entertainment options within county lines, including George Washington's Mount Vernon Estate. The nation’s only national park for the performing arts, Wolf Trap Farm Park, is in Fairfax County.

To the east there is the Chesapeake Bay, Atlantic Ocean beaches, and the monuments, museums and nightlife in Washington, D.C. To the west are the famed Blue Ridge Mountains. To the south are the Civil War battlefields surrounding Manassas, Fredericksburg and Richmond.
