Founded around 1730, Midlothian, VA is the site of the first recorded coal mines in the United States. French Huguenots were among the first European settlers. Remnants of the Midlothian Coal Mine, old homes and taverns are scattered throughout the Village.
The unincorporated Village of Midlothian is located in the northwestern part of Chesterfield County. (Rt.60 also know as Midlothian Turnpike heading west toward Powhatan County) Today it is a bedroom community of Richmond and only a 25 minute commute to downtown.
Midlothian is home to moderate and upscale award winning neighborhoods with excellent schools, private and public golf courses, youth team sports, shopping and fine dining. A great place to call home!
