Buckley is a city located in Pierce County, WA.

The Buckley Chamber of Commerce welcomes you to historical Buckley!  Nestled in the foothills of majestic Mt. Rainier, Buckley is a great place to live, work, play and visit. Many business owners have made Buckley the home of their business operations.

Buckley is a great place to make your home.  Families enjoy the small, friendly and hospitable rural atmosphere Buckley offers.  Located just far enough away from big city living, Buckley is is just a short drive from the metropolitan areas of Tacoma and Seattle.  Whatever your stage in life, you'll find a welcome in Buckley.  We offer great schools, activities for senior citizens, youth, recreation, worship and business.

White River School District
includes the City of Buckley, the Towns of Wilkeson and South Prairie and a portion of the City of Bonney Lake. It currently has an enrollment of more than 4,400 students and employs about 550 in five elementary schools, two middle schools, one high school and one alternative high school.

Buckley is situated at the base of Mt. Rainier where the plateau stops, the foothills starts, and the river rolls by.  A small town where the people take time to smell the roses, help one another, and take pride in their historical heritage.  A place where you may see the Mayor, city officials, businesses and citizens coming together to paint the town, plant flowers, and organize special activities that include the whole family.

Buckley and the surrounding areas have much to offer.  Fine dining, quaint shops, night club entertainment, farmer's market, Buckley Logger's Rodeo, museums, and antiques.  For those who enjoy the outdoors, there is top notch skiing, camping, hiking, fishing, and biking.  Above all, Buckley continue to rest below the snow and above the fog.

Buckley is home to the Buckley Nursery (may have been renamed). The Buckley Nursery is where the PACIFIC GOLD PEACH was created. The first peach that could be grown in the Northwest climate, and actually produce peaches. It was developed by my Grandfather, William Schwab, who started the Buckley Nursery. The Buckley Nursery was also one of the companies hired to do the landscaping for the Seattle World's Fair 1960 (this date may not be accurate). As you drive east on hwy 410, just past the bridge crossing White River (for which the High School is named) to the south you can see a railroad trestle that was in the Elvis Presley movie, "Meet Me At The World's Fair". Buckley was originally called "White River Siding". It was one of the earliest settlements in Washington.
