Population: 5,757

East Wenatchee residents appreciate the community’s character, setting, climate, and recreational opportunities; the region is famous for its natural beauty.

The Apple Capital Loop Trail, a pedestrian and bicycle path, meanders along the banks of the Columbia River, crossing the river at two points and connecting the cities of East Wenatchee and Wenatchee. Visitors and residents alike enjoy this 10-mile trail.

Lodging and dining options and site seeing opportunities abound in the area.

The Wenatchee Valley Mall, located in downtown East Wenatchee, provides an urban shopping experience for the area’s residents and visitors with over forty stores, including anchors Sears and the Bon Marché.

East Wenatchee is actively involved in international relations through an ongoing cultural exchange with Misawa, Japan. The Mayors of East Wenatchee, Wenatchee, and Misawa signed a Sister City Agreement in 2001.

Each year the local communities host a delegation from Misawa during the Apple Blossom Festival in early May, and send a delegation of area residents to Misawa in August. Misawa was selected because East Wenatchee was the landing site of Clyde Pangborn and Hugh Herndon, flying the Miss Veedol on the first non-stop Trans-Pacific Flight from Misawa, Japan, in October 1931.
