Milton is located in King & Pierce County

Population: 4,995

The City is bordered by unincorporated King County to the north, Fife to the west, and Edgewood to the east and south. Located in the I-5 corridor, Milton is just 10 minutes from the City of Tacoma and less than 16 miles from Sea-Tac airport. Milton is a code city with a Mayor-Council form of government and maintains its own water and electrical utilities.

Milton is a unique community, unlike many others in the Tacoma-Seattle corridor, because of its small-town atmosphere and character. Milton prides itself in maintaining this small town character by providing strong community resources through its senior center and youth activities, quality schools, strong leadership, and its focus on building relationships between its citizens, businesses, and City Hall.

Milton remains focused on encouraging industry as part of its fabric, while keeping with its small town character and wide-ranging residential offering. Milton's Interurban Trail, located on the right-of-way of the old Interurban Railway, is one of the area's most scenic trails with its heavily forested areas, scenic viewpoints, along with the Sweetwater Creek, a branch of the Hylebos, which meanders along a wide portion of the trail.

Milton is proud of its annual Parade and Picnic, the largest community event of the year. The first annual parade in 1999 was a big success and continues as a permanent addition to the event. Held in Milton's Triangle Park, the picnic draws many residents with its great food, children's activities and entertainment.
